Certified Environmental Specialist – $299.00 $255.00
Professionals working in the safety and environmental fields who wish to enhance their knowledge and credentials about health hazards in a wide variety of settings should opt for this Certified Environmental Specialist course. Understanding and application of environmental compliance are fundamental in the workplace for those professionals that work on projects that can pose a potential danger to the public or environment.
This course gives a detailed overview of EPA regulations relating to hazardous waste such as CAA – Clean Air Act, CWA – Clean Water Act, SPCC – Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure, RCRA – Resources Conservation and Recovery Act, EPCRA – Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, TSCA – Toxic Substances Control Act, and CERCLA – Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.
This course provides updated knowledge of environmental and public safety and EPA regulations. Upon successful completion, you will be able to put into practice the information that is obtained from this training. A certificate of completion will be available for you to print at the end of this course.
Mold Inspector Certification – $495.00
Those employees who wish to undertake the Mold Inspector Certification Course do so in the intention to become capable of analyzing the level of hazard and how to treat it. Also, to gain knowledge of the measures that can be taken to prevent the growth and spread of mold. The occurrence of dampness or decay means that there is a presence of mold which can be a great health hazard. It can cause respiratory issues, eye irritation, sinus congestion, rashes, or allergic reactions due to exposure. Allowing the fungi to grow out of control will eventually lead to the building being condemned.
The knowledge gained from the Mold Inspector Certification will have both residential and commercial applications. This course covers detailed topics about the following:
- How to inspect each area of a building or house
- Tools and protective equipment used in inspections
- Mold sampling and testing methods
- Lab results interpretations
Once the Mold Inspector Certification course is complete, a certificate can be accessed to print from your computer.
RCRA 8 Hour Refresher – $99
This course is designed for Environmental Professionals who want to maximize their compliance efforts for safety in the workplace. We will cover the various types of hazardous waste that may occur at worksites and suggest precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate these hazards. Throughout the course, we will examine the federal Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), as well as the role of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the role of the individual states in controlling hazardous wastes. We will learn how to comply with the RCRA program, which the EPA has developed to manage hazardous wastes from cradle to grave, i.e., from the time it is generated to its ultimate disposal.
The Clean Air Act – $45
The Clean Air Act describes the legislative history regarding the reduction of atmospheric pollution. The United States Congress first passed the Air Pollution Control Act of 1955, then the Clean Air Act in 1963, followed by amendments in 1966, the Clean Air Act Extension in 1970, and further amendments in 1977 and 1990. This course discusses the goals and importance of the Clean Air Act through its legislative history. Amendments have been implemented to these Acts, especially the 1990 Amendments which are covered in great detail in this course. This course also covers how the Clean Air Act is designed to protect people and how well that goal has been accomplished. In addition, the course describes the purpose and requirements of the New Source Review (NSR) permitting program and the Title V permit program. The course ends with the Clear Skies Legislation which was proposed to reduce power plant emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOX), and mercury.
Stormwater Discharges and Permits in Construction – $90
This course covers federal and state regulations to control and prevent stormwater discharge. Stormwater discharges are generated by runoff from land and impervious areas such as paved streets, parking lots, and building rooftops during rainfall and snow events that often contain pollutants in quantities that could adversely affect water quality. Federal and state stormwater regulations require industrial facilities to take steps to prevent stormwater pollution. All stormwater permits require the development and implementation of minimum control measures (for MS4 stormwater permits) and best management practices (for industrial stormwater permits). Consequently, this course also discusses the procedures required for NPDES permit and pollution prevention plans.
Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure – $45
This course provides an in-depth review of the federal requirements for Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure SPCC plans and a complete analysis of the development of SPCC rules and regulations. The development of SPCC plans requires detailed knowledge of the facility and the potential effects of any oil spill. This course provides information about the current SCPP regulations, contingency plans, facility response plans, and reporting requirements to help prevent oil spills that could reach navigable waters of the United States or adjoining shorelines
Spill Prevention and Release Reporting – $45
This course presents an in-depth view of the federal requirements for Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans. It also provides a complete analysis of the development of SPCC rules and regulations. The development of SPCC plans requires detailed knowledge of the facility and the potential effects of any oil spill. Thus, this course includes such information as the current SPCC regulations, contingency plans, facility response plan, and reporting requirements to help prevent oil spills that could reach navigable waters of the United States or adjoining shorelines.
Identifying Your Hazardous Wastes – $95
Identifying hazardous wastes according to RCRA regulations helps environmental professionals to determine how the waste must be managed. This course covers the identification of hazardous wastes, characteristics of hazardous wastes, and universal and miscellaneous wastes according to RCRA regulations. This course also discussed discarded material and excluded hazardous wastes in detail. Apart from RCRA regulations, this course also covers the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) regulations in detail. A major objective of TSCA is to characterize and evaluate the risks posed by a chemical to humans and the environment before the chemical is introduced into commerce
Hazards of Asbestos in the Workplace – $20
Asbestos is a substance that has been used for centuries. Its heat-resistant properties make it almost indestructible; due to this property, asbestos have been widely used in the construction industry, especially for pipe and boiler insulation. Before 1973, asbestos was sprayed onto different surfaces for fire protection purposes, but this practice was banned due to the hazardous nature of asbestos. Furthermore, it is no longer used for insulating pipes and boilers. However, asbestos can still be found in many older buildings. Those who work in construction, repair, demolition, and renovations are at a greater risk of contracting asbestos-related diseases such as asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma. There is no safe level for exposure to asbestos. This course introduces the students to the hazards of asbestos in the workplace and provides information about the measures that must be taken in order to minimize the effects of exposure to asbestos.
